1. Switch to sirloin

 

By simply swapping regular ground beef for a grind from a singular cut of beef, you can give your burger a flavour facelift. Ground Sirloin, Chuck and Round are made from a single cut, not a mix both. They contain the same number of 14 essential nutrients. The only difference with ground sirloin is that it’s a steak experience-style of ground beef. This summer surprise your friends and family by refining your barbecue style. Barbecuing with Ground Sirloin will take your burger to a whole new level and add an element of sophistication.

2. Make you burger flipping fantastic

How many times one should flip their burger is a subject of serious debate among Canadians. The science isn’t in yet, but we do know that the juiciest burgers are ones that haven’t been fussed over. Continually flipping and smashing your burger will drive out the precious natural juices, which makes for a dry hamburger. To avoid overcooking use a food thermometer to make sure your patties are done (your burger’s done at 71C!). Don’t man-handle your burger – it’s a woman’s tender touch that makes beef burgers best.

3. Go Gourmet & Accessorize

Instead of dressing you burger with the typical cheddar, mustard and ketchup why not get a little fancy and impress the guest with a mushroom melt. Simply combine 1 sweet onion (such as Vidalia), sliced, 2 cups (500 mL) sliced mushrooms and 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste; cook, stirring occasionally, in non stick skillet over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes until vegetables are golden and tender. Stir in 2 tbsp (30 mL) steak sauce and heat through.

4. Enjoy a bikini friendly burger without borders

For all you carbohydrate conscious gals there are lots of recipes that allow you to let it all hang out. Why not cut the carbs in half and go topless – open face burgers are a bikinis best friend. Many Canadians don’t know this, but grilling is a great low-fat cooking method. Did you know by simply grilling a burger, you can reduce the amount of fat in raw ground beef on average by ONE THIRD!

5. Become a BBQueen

Recent studies have shown that the bulk of barbecue cuisine is cooked by men. This summer it is time for the ladies to take back the tongs and let their man know that a girl’s gotta grill. So come on ladies, grab a match, fire it up and give to new meaning to the term, “what’s cookin’ good lookin’!”

These little beef dynamos pack the perfect pint sized flavour punch your friends and family won’t be able to resist. They also beg the question: does size REALLY matter?
