Dressing for the Salad Set

Food and fashion – a very likely combination. The Fashion Show Luncheon.

How inspiring to me…my mind raced ahead…accessories for the new woman. Forget the hat and gloves, now you accessorize around the menu with wear the food and eat fusion fashion.

The old Boot and I had a ringside table. She, having been a doyenne of duds, and a clotheshorse of chic, in her day, was dressed to the nines and I was dapper too!.

The menu had: Chanterelle stuffed chicken breast, charbroiled, then roasted with a white wine cream reduction and a colourful mélange of vegetables. The breast was attractively displayed on the plate with its mushroom stuffing, delectable with the pasta and slivered mushrooms.

All the while the other clothed breasts were being highlighted, as models paired with the food, visually, in supple, quilted vests in autumn colours, hand made by Donna. These were garnished with hand dyed silk scarves by Tanya, vibrant as the mélange of vegetables!

The lemon pepper prawns with saffron were beautiful, with hues of pink, white and sunset yellow. The succulent prawns robed with saffron sauce were understated, refined, like the subtle elegance of the linen outfits with hand blocked prints by Mary. The two mediums in juxtaposition created a real meal of fashion…. Or fashionable meal, where there is real taste.
