Denis Raymond Leblanc

October 6, 1950 ~ July 13, 2021 (age 70)

It is with shattered hearts we say goodbye to Denis after a valiant battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.

Denis is survived by Trudie, his wife and soul mate of 47 years; a beautiful daughter, Sarah (son-in law, Scott); his two sweet grandsons, Owen and Lukas; and his cherished son, Scott. He also left behind his devoted sister, Diane (Richard); brother-in-law, Ray Steele (Johan); niece, Jana Steele (Nisam); and nephews, David (Rebecca) and Michael Steele.

Denis was born in Noranda, Quebec to Leo and Anastasia LeBlanc and eventually moved to Sarnia, Ontario with his family. He attended the University of Windsor and completed his chartered accountant papers in 1977. As a practising CA he explored numerous careers from working in a London, Ontario accounting firm, commercial banking in Winnipeg, Manitoba and finally settling in Thunder Bay, Ontario with real estate management and development.

He retired to Qualicum Beach in 2014, a dream come true. Qualicum Beach was his bit of paradise. He loved the climate, being closer to family, the lovely flowers and trees and the spectacular ocean scenery.

Denis was very proud of his two children and wonderful son-in-law, and adored his time with his grandsons. He was special. His kindness, charm and integrity were captured in everything he did. Denis loved life and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Biking, travelling, hiking, walking the gorgeous beaches, golfing and dabbling in online stock trading were counted among his many varied hobbies. Many new friends and neighbours in Qualicum Beach made his life happy and fulfilled. Thank you to all you wonderful people!

Thank you also for all the kindness and support provided by the palliative care team, who cared for him with warmth and compassion.

We will miss you, Denis, with all our hearts;

“When someone you love becomes a memory,

the memory becomes a treasure.”

Always and Forever.
