Your Community Needs you!!!

Unusual challenges need unusual solutions.

Businesses ’across Canada have been ravaged as result of Covid-19, unfortunately this has been doubly so on local businesses in small communities like Chemainus.

Not only do they have to face the same challenges as other Canadian companies but they have a much smaller population base to call on with regards to sales and employees.

It is well stated that it takes a village to raise a child, and the same analogy holds true for our local businesses.

These are unusual times and it will take unusual steps to help our businesses to hang on until we emerge from the trauma of Covid.

There are 2 things we can try to do.

1. Those who are looking for employment please consider accepting a job in your community, they need you.
2. Seniors please consider volunteering to assist our local businesses, the ones that we use now and would solely miss if they if they were to close.

We are not suggesting going back to work, we’ve been there, done that. How about doing 2 – 3 hours a day once or twice a week just to give the owners/management a break; too many are at the breaking point.

If they close we will all loose that personal touch which makes your community what it is, and the joy that it is to be a part of.
