The Chemainus Chamber of Commerce is delighted  to welcome and introduce Terry & Linda Dockrill the new owners of McBride’s  Service Station.

They bring a wealth of knowledge to continue the excellent service that has made McBides such an important and integral part of our community.

They will also open  the “Puppycats Pet Emporium” next door which adds another reason to shop local in Chemainus.

We were thrilled to find Chemainus and McBride’s Service Station that was for sale.

We wish Dan and Wanda every happiness  in their retirement  after running a such great business.

The history and incredible service for almost 90 years definitely made McBride a front runner.

My background  is that I have been in the automotive business for 38 years.

My last position of 15 years the General Manager of a large Canadian Tire store in Alberta. Not only did I run the store I oversaw the service department and staff.

I also did some consulting to other Canadian Tire Service departments that were struggling, which I am happy to say they are running very well now.

Prior to the GM position I was the Parts and Service Manager in Red Deer which had an 18 service bay garage.

Before  this I was a store manager over a long period of time at Kal Tire and TireTown which Kal bought out. I also worked a few years at Commercial Tire.

I started this journey of automotive at the age of 16 when I became an apprentice. I got my first job at Tire Town in Calgary changing tires an assisting the mechanics.

I have always prioritized good honest service to ensure repeat business and always try to go the extra mile.

I was also very involved with Drag racing and was the Pro bracket champion in Calgary! My wife and I both love cars and now participate in as many car shows as we can.

Linda has also been in retail as she ran my garden centre at Canadian Tire.

Prior to that she was a store manager at a fashion store in the Red Deer mall.

I met her when she was a waitress about 25 years ago.

We have some exciting plans for McBride’s and are also going to open up Puppycats Pet Emporium next door!

Our daughters Samantha and Shaina will be running the pet store with help from Linda’s experience.

We want to invite everyone and their furry friends to come and meet us and our Golden Charlie.

We are very proud and happy to be a part of this beautiful community.
