Christmas is for Seniors Too!
At a time of year when the focus is on kids, and rightly so, it’s refreshing to see some organizations remembering Christmas is for seniors too.
Forbes Pharmacy is launching a notable initiative designed to make holidays brighter for older folks who might otherwise feel overlooked.
Shoppers at Eagle Creek and Sooke locations can pick an ornament from their tree, each with a unique gift idea for a local senior. Once the ornament is chosen, simply purchase, wrap and return the gift before December 20th and the staff at Forbes Pharmacy will do the rest.
Loneliness among seniors is Christmas can be a tough time for many seniors, especially those who live alone or have lost loved ones. While the holidays are all about togetherness, it can feel painfully quiet for someone without family or close friends nearby.
For older adults, things like mobility issues or shrinking social circles can make it harder to connect with others, leaving them feeling lonely and left out. It’s heartbreaking, especially during a season meant to bring joy.
At a time of year when a simple visit, a phone call, or even a handwritten card can mean the world to a senior who might be feeling forgotten, we appreciate what the staff at Forbes Pharmacy are doing and hope other organizations will follow suit.
