In early July 2018, Green Aura Cannabis was devastated with the most disheartening news. The Municipality of North Cowichan had directed their legal counsel- Anderson & Young to issue an injunction against Green Aura Cannabis and it’s two owners- Cody and Trevor.

Results of Injunction:

• 5 staff members were let go, each of which was a local resident
• 2600 members, many of which are local residents, without access to medicinal products including creams and CBD tinctures
• Empty lease space in Chemainus Village Square
• Many unhappy community members and voters
• The only locally owned and operated cannabis shops were shut down, while larger, more corporate shops have stayed open

Green Aura was the only locally owned and operated Cannabis Shop within North Cowichan. We have proven to our local community that we want nothing more than to educate our community on the benefits of cannabis products. Our members are mothers, fathers, teachers, and doctors, police, tradespeople. They are your grandparents and your neighbours, and each and every one of them need us.

Please help us urge North Cowichan to make the right decision and to lift this injunction against us, so we may continue our good works helping our local community and work with the Municipality to create a framework for the future of cannabis legalization.
