Thank Canadian Trades People.

Seniors home care, care facilities,RV parks B &B, Churches, Brew pubs, craft breweries, vineyards, distilleries, Pets BC. Seniors 101, Island Voices promoting the products and services available for seniors on Vancouver Island. Seniors 101 lifeline. Snowbirds. Employment. Politics. Vancouver Island Now. Island woman magazine.A big “Thank You” to the unionised construction members of Vancouver Island and companies large and small including Babcock Canada who have made huge donations to Camosun College Foundation’s TRADEmark of Excellence Campaign.

Their commitments will help ensure the survival of an endangered sub specie of Canadians, people who actually make something.

Trades people and those that work in the manufacturing sector, including construction, forestry, mining, oil and gas and fishing, create real dollars so that they can be recycled by others.

Fortunately school career councillors and parents are slowly becoming aware that not everyone needs to go to university to get worthwhile, well paying positions with really bright futures.

The future prosperity of Canada, with the standard of living that we have enjoyed in the past, will not be achieved by signing free trade deals all around the world, but with well trained, well paid, construction, manufacturing and resource sectors, coast to coast to coast.
